Natural resources, particularly petroleum, natural gas, and construction minerals, are another distinctive strength of Ba Ria Vung Tau province. In terms of petroleum and natural gas, the province is Vietnam’s center of offshore oil and gas exploration and exploitation as well as energy generation from natural gas. Consequently, Ba Ria Vung Tau is one of the biggest energy generation centers of Vietnam accounting for 40% of national designed power generation capacity. This ensures a stable power supply to enterprises in the province.
Additionally, with favorable natural condition such as the long coastline, sandy beach with clean and clear water all year round, sandy hills, coastal mountains, especially Binh Chau-Phuoc Buu Preservation Zone and Con Dao National Park, the province has been a well-known tourist destination nationwide.
