Da Bac specialized Industrial cluster: ready for investors at the end of 2013

Da Bac specialized industrial cluster (DBSIC) started in May 2013 as a part of Ba Ria – Vung Tau’s plan to attract Japanese investors in supporting industries. This event is a good example of the determination to realize the economic cooperation agreement made by Ba Ria – Vung Tau and the City of Kawasaki (Japan).

According to Mrs. Tran Thi Huong, Director of Department of Industry and Trade, after many delegations visiting each other, Japanese investors nominated Da Bac area as a perfect site for specialized industrial cluster. And the DBSIC is the first industrial cluster model invested and developed by both Ba Ria – Vung Tau province and the City of Kawasaki, twinned city with Vung Tau city.

Total investment capital in the 75ha industrial cluster is estimated nearly VND300 billion, said Mr. Tran Van Sam, Chairman of Dong A Chau Duc Joint Stock Company. The developer expected that the infrastructure and factory for rent in the DBSIC would be ready for Japanese investors at the end of 2013. The DBSIC is designed to have functional area: industrial area, factory for rent area, services area: banks, post office, residential area, facilities area: shops, restaurants, supermarket… The DBSIC master plan is designed by Chodai Company, a leading civil construction designer and consultant in Japan. Furthermore, there will be a “one-stop” shop to support investors with administrative procedures: applying for investment certificate, translation, customs handling, logistics, tax declaration, etc.

It is expected to attract around 30 – 50 investors in supporting industries and manufacturing in order to create a complete value chain in the Da Bac Industrial Cluster. And around 2,000 jobs will be created. This will help to change the poor community of Da Bac into a modern industrial area. “We have learned that BR-VT has attractive policy for Japanese investors. And we will invest in DBSIC because BRVT has many potentials and advantages such as sea port, tourism and oil and gas services. We hope that the provincial government will support us with favorable conditions and many Japanese investors will be present in the province in the coming time” said Mr. Yukiyama, Director of Aruna Company (Japan).

Mr. Tran Minh Sanh, President of the provincial People’s Committee confirmed that the industrial cluster came into existence as a momentum to speed up the strategic partnership between Vietnam and Japan. The provincial People’s Committee will be company with the project developer and promptly support them during the project implementation in order to provide favorable conditions for investors.
