Ba Ria – Vung Tau saved 53,100kwh during 2014 earth hour event
Earth Hour event , which took place between 20h30 and 21h30 on 29.03.2014, was held successfully in the province of Ba Ria - Vung Tau . The total power output savings in Earth Hour is 53.100kWh , 1.100kWh higher than 2013. To successfully organize the Earth Hour event , the Electricity Company of Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province in collaboration with the provincial Youth Union, the local People's Committees had 229 banners hung in the main street , and populated areas; distributed 200 poster stickers and 1,000 leaflets at the points of customer interaction to propagate “Earth Hour 2014 “. In addition, the Electricity Company of Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province in collaboration with the provincial Youth Union, particularly the Youth Union of Vung Tau City organized bicycle road show with about 200 people in order to propagate the event, distribute leaflets and campaign turning off lights and unnecessary electrical equipment. The road show took place on the main roads in the city center of Vung Tau. The People’s Committees at the district level directed the Urban Works Companies to turn off or reduce the level of lighting in the roads, and lighting in public areas during the event hour from 20:30 to 21:30, March 29th 2014. It is said that in the province, the total output savings during the event was 53,100kWh, 1,100kWh higher than 2013. The total output savings achieved across the nation in the one-hour event was 431,000kWh. Ngọc Lan
